After the big group photo I organised at the AIPP APPA awards went viral I knew there was more we could do. A big photo is great but limited to the few thousand people who saw it. What if we could get into a newspaper? Nichola from Ara Communications and I had a chat, I put out the call to AIPP photographers who had photographed same sex weddings, commitments or what ever else people had done to show their love and we got a bit of a flood.
Finally after a few weeks the Guardian published the article and images and it's amazing. The diversity of the images and stories are just like every other wedding, but only the ones overseas are legal. So proud of all the photographers and especially the couples for providing their stories.
